Amanda Kent

Soprano

Amanda started her career as a musicals singer in roles such as Adelaide in 'Guys and Dolls' and Velma Kelly in 'Chicago'. She also appeared as a straight actress in shows such as 'Lark Rise to Candleford', 'Before Your Very Eyes', and 'God' at the Thorndike Theatre. Today she continues to act, performing in Murder Mysteries.

Since changing her career direction to operatic singing Amanda has sung a variety of roles including 1st Lady in 'Magic Flute', Michaela in 'Carmen' and Mimi in 'La Boheme'. Amanda appears in many concerts throughout the UK singing excerpts from operas such as 'Madame Butterfly', 'Andrea Chenier' and 'La Traviata'. She also sings regularly with Cameo Opera who perform all over England.

She currently studies with well-known singing teacher Jessica Cash, and her music coaches include Philip Thomas and Robyn Sevastos.

While still at school Amanda studied singing with Niven Miller and Susan Gray, and started her drama coaching with the renowned Young Stagers at the Thorndike Theatre in Leatherhead. She continued her studies at Warwick University taking an honours degree in Theatre Studies and Dramatic Art.
